Abstract
The Special Care Dentistry department of Liverpool University Dental Hospital provides dental care for patients
referred who are at significant risk of bleeding following invasive dental procedures. This paper outlines in brief the
risks and complications associated with patients at risk of bleeding as a result of dental procedures, and describe
a service evaluation of post-operative complications of patients at increased risk of bleeding at the department.
