The management of domiciliary dental patients

Background: Domiciliary patients are amongst the most difficult and challenging patient groups that dentists will
treat. Their management is complicated by several factors including medication, ability to perform plaque control,
access to dentistry and cooperation for dental treatment.

Aim: To provide an overview of domiciliary care, possible future innovations and research interests and identify
evidence gaps.
