A functional long-term temporary crown avoids general anaesthetic for a patient with a moderate learning disability

Abstract
This case describes the use of a long-term temporary crown in a patient with a moderate learning disability. The temporary crown prolonged the lifespan of a comfortable and functional molar tooth for approximately five years and avoided the need for treatment under general anaesthetic. Additionally, the potential for this long-term temporary crown in other clinical scenarios is discussed.
