Prof.Yossi Shapira (Israel)
This presentation gives the theoretical background and practice about the way that we deal as a team (Paediatric dentist-Orthodontist-Oral Surgeon-Endodontist), with the difficulties of managing patients with disabilities. This presentation includes all the variety of behaviour management techniques that we use: conscious sedation, deep sedation and GA. Prof. Joseph Shapira is the Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Hebrew University, Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel. Graduating in Jerusalem in 1974, he spent 1977-1979 specialising in Pediatric Dentistry in The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania, USA. Prof. Shapira has published more than 80 articles in refereed international journals, and lectured around the world on dentistry for special needs and high risk medically compromised patients (status, treatment and prevention of dental diseases), as well as the use of sedative agents regarding management of anxiety and behaviour control in paediatric dental patients. Prof. Shapira is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the International Association for Disability and Oral Health. Room B- Orofacial regulation therapy Dr. Rodolfo Castillo Morales (Córdoba, Argentina) Rodolfo Castillo Morales was born and raised in Argentina where he undertook his medical studies, followed by his physician’s approbation in the medical field of rehabilitation in Spain. He is Director of the Rehabilitation Center Centro Modelo de Reeducacion in Cordoba, Argentina and has been disseminating the Castillo-Morales concept in Europe since 1979
